The City of Joplin Parks and Recreation Department is updating an existing inventory of trees in City Parks. This work along with an assessment of the structural risks of the trees is made possible through a Missouri Department of Conservation Community Forestry grant. Currently, contractors are inventorying and assessing trees in nine City Parks. The updated information will be used to make decisions about the care of the trees that benefit the citizens of Joplin. This grant is part of the MDC Community Conservation Program.
